MS Exchange Engineer Job

Messaging Architects is seeking to fill a full-time position for an Exchange System Engineer to be senior technical resource within our team. The System Engineer is responsible for providing senior-level consulting for customers and internal resources, researching and training others on new technologies and features in Exchange, and working with Sales and customers to gather business requirements and design / build appropriate messaging and application platform solutions This position features the candidate's ability with Microsoft technology. Real-world experience with Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and other Microsoft technologies is required. Experience with building and managing large Exchange solutions within a large enterprise and/or service provider capability are highly valued.
Essential Technology Knowledge:
Microsoft Exchange Server
- Experience with large Exchange design & implementation efforts (including high availability solutions)
- Experience with migration from earlier versions of Exchange
- Experience with user migration from disparate messaging platforms to Exchange
- Conversant with best practices around Exchange troubleshooting System Administration
Microsoft Active Directory
- Experience with AD design and implementation
- Experience with Windows Domain design and implementation
- Conversant with best practices around Exchange System Administration
- Experience with best practices around Active Directory Troubleshooting and System Administration
Microsoft Windows 2003 and Windows 2000 Operating Systems
Microsoft Outlook clients - setup, administration, support, rollout, and upgrade.
Familiar with real-world implementation and support of products that communicate via standard Internet protocols:
- TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP / HTTPS (SSL), POP3 / IMAP4
Familiar with basic LAN and WAN protocols and standards
Knowledge of the Following Concepts Essential:
- Infrastructure design practices based on the gathering of technical and business requirements
- Backup and Restore best practices
- Technical site audits or "discovery" processes
- Basic security concepts
- Firewall / router / switch concepts
